New Shoes

Up to this point, Sawyer has only worn mocassin-type leather shoes, which basically just kept his socks on. They really didn't give his feet much support, but they allowed him to feel the floor underneath him. Now that Sawyer is running everywhere, and we hope spring is just around the corner, we decided he needed a pair of sturdier shoes he could wear outside. On Saturday, we went shoe shopping at Stride Rite. He was very patient as they sized his feet -- 5 1/2 wide!!! The first pair of shoes slowed him down a bit, and he was really not too fond of them. It was really funny to see him high-stepping in the store. The second pair, he loved and we took home with us. They must be comfortable to him, as he brought them to us several times today to put on him. He has already figured out how to work the velcro strap, but hasn't figured out how to take them off ...... yet ............
