Sawyer woke up with an eye that was almost completely swollen shut. It did not have any discharge, but was just red and swollen. Of course, we took him to the doctor. They think he has a bug bite on his eyelid and recommended we give him Zyrtec and benadryl to reduce the irritation. He felt much better about an hour after taking the Zyrtec, and the doctor said he could go back to school. We kept him home, as he was still not able to completely see out of his eye. He was better the next day, but it was still swollen. It has taken about 5-7 days for this to fully resolve.
