8 Months Old

We can't believe another month has flown by and Sawyer is now 8 months old, as of September 8th! He is getting more and more active everyday. He is crawling very fast, pulls up on anything he can get his hands on and is cruising around furniture. He especially loves crawling towards everything we don't want him to get into -- plants, book shelves, pictures, entertainment equipment, etc. He continues to love to eat and has tried many new foods. He really likes the foods he can feed himself! He is learning to drink out of a sippy cup, but still takes a bottle several times per day. He talks to us frequently by babbling and likes to look at his various books. Some of his favorite toys are his various balls. He is really starting to take notice when things are different and can immediately spot when we bring a new toy out. He is starting to become slightly afraid of strangers and really doesn't like mom or dad to get out of his sight. He gives some of the best snuggles, hugs, and kisses. He understands the few sign language signs we have taught him, but he has yet to sign them back to us. He is in a great routine now and sleeps ~10 hours every night. We usually do bath time around 7:00pm, and he is in be no later than 8:00pm and sleeps until ~6:00am. He loves his bath and has really started splashing and playing in the bathtub. The one thing this little guy doesn't do very well is nap. He usually only takes two, approximately 45 minute naps per day and usually protests nap time, as he might miss something! He continues to amaze us daily, and we love our evenings spent playing and chasing him around.
