Oh the joys of parenting .....
I am at work -- so no pictures with this post. Yesterday, I had only been at work a little over an hour when I received a page from Sawyer's daycare-- which is never a good thing! I went to pick him up and he had a rash around his mouth, on his hands, bottom, and legs. We went to see the doctor and received a diagnosis of hand, foot, mouth disease.(which apparently is going around right now, as the doctor has seen numerous cases this past week). It is a very common viral illness which is highly contagious when kids are running a fever. Thank goodness, it is rare for adults to get it. It is most common for infants and young children to get, as their immunity isn't as good. Of course, Sawyer is NOT running a fever, but we have to keep him out of daycare for 3 days, and maybe up to 7 days if he starts running a fever. Sawyer was slightly clingy to mommy yesterday and has been fussy at night. Yesterday afternoon, he played outside and went for a walk with mommy. He LOVES being outside. Thank goodness for Grandma Pam who came to stay with Sawyer Tuesday and Wednesday so mommy and daddy could go to work. This morning, Sawyer woke up as perky as ever, not looking sick at all, but he did have a few new bumps, which the doctor said would happen. In the doctor's words --" it will get worse before it gets better." Sawyer is doing well but has a rash and molars which are starting to come through and seem to bother him. If it isn't one thing its another when it comes to kids!
