This weekend, daddy decided Sawyer needed his own "real tool box" and "real tools." After having dinner out on Friday night, we went to the hardware store (one of Sawyer's favorite places!) in search of a tool box and tools. As soon as we arrived home, Sawyer wanted all the stickers & packaging off his tools. He packed them away in his tool box and immediately went to work "fixing things like Handy Manny!" He has measured all kinds of things and has taken the tools in/out of the tool box more times than we can count. Here are some pictures daddy took of Sawyer enjoying his new tools.
This weekend was a relaxing weekend around the house for us. We did some cleaning and getting ready for baby #2. We also had a nice dinner & some brownies/ice cream to celebrate Daddy's birthday. Next week, we are hoping to take a small vacation to get some much needed R&R! Our initial vacation to Texas was cancelled due to Sawyer being in Children's Mercy. Mommy & Daddy are in need of a break from work!

Of course, he still LOVES to read his books and discovered some old favorites on his book shelves this weekend. He can now read some of his books to himself -- from memory of course -- he can't read just yet! Notice the tape measure off to his left side. He didn't let it get too far away!
