Sawyer's spring break was Friday, Monday & Tuesday. Of course, Easter happened while he was on spring break too. Mommy took some time off work to be home with the boys. We met Daddy for lunch a few days, and Daddy even came home early! Sawyer attended two birthday parties, Sutton had a friend over to play. We took a walk on the nature trail, rode bikes, explored, and played outside A LOT. On Tuesday, Sutton went to school and Sawyer and Mommy visited the World War I Museum. Sawyer loved seeing all the uniforms, guns, weapons, tanks, and other memorabilia from the war. We even went up in the observation tower. He wasn't sure he wanted to go up. We rode an elevator -- which only holds 8 people to the top, walked up an additional 45 steps and stepped out onto an outdoor observation deck. The views of downtown were beautiful, but it was really windy at the top! We had a great spring break! It's going to be hard to get back to reality!
Sawyer & Liam (at Sky Zone)
Playing on a gravel pile at the nature tail.
Sutton & Cameron -- they played really well together.
Sawyer was hiding from Sutton & Cameron!
Partners in crime -- one to drive and one to get the "bad guys!"
Sawyer at the WWI museum.
He thought these doors were really cool and heavy!
Over the walkway of poppies -- each flower represents 1,000 lives lost during the war!
It was a beautiful day and a beautiful museum.
Sawyer wanted to "take a selfie!"
In addition to the museum in the lower part, there is the observation tower and two additional buildings with exhibits.
They had a few cool interactive areas Sawyer really enjoyed! It's great he is such a good reader, he was reading me the information!
He thought this tank was "so cool!"
View from the bottom of the tower. I didn't take a picture of the view from the top. It was really windy and I didn't want to loose my phone!
Going down the stairs in the observation tower. Sawyer thought it was cool people had been going up in this tower for 90 years (It opened in 1926)!!!
It is a massive structure! Sawyer looks tiny at the base of it!
Another selfie -- our wind blown looks! It was very windy even at the base of the tower. The whole monument is built on a very big hill.
We ended our trip to the museum with lunch at Habaneros -- for some habby dip and enchiladas! It is Sawyer's favorite restaurant!
