As most of you know, we had to take Sawyer to the doctor last Thursday (1/15/09) for a wheezy sound he was making -- which we found out was normal for newborns. We had to take Sawyer back to the doctor today (Monday 1/19/09). We noticed increased drainage from his left eye yesterday and he woke up with his eye matted shut this morning. It ended up being a blocked tear duct. Sawyer's doctor showed mommy how to massage the duct to open it up and his eye looks much better now. We go back to the doctor on Thursday for his first (scheduled) visit with his pediatrician since he left the hospital. Last Thursday, he weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce. Today he weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces -- the boy likes to eat! After coming home from the doctor's office, Sawyer and mommy took a 2 hour nap. Grandma Pam caught us in action.
Awesome blog, great pictures, you are a very blessed couple. I wish you much happiness and much health for Sawyer. Wish I could be there to hold him.

Oh, no! We'll have to come to you for tips on that one. I think blocked tear ducts are supposed to be in store for LC quite a bit in the next few months...Sawyer's lucky to be in the company of such parenting pros!
