Rough Week

This week has been a rough one for Sawyer.  On Monday morning, I received a page from daycare at work -- never a good thing.  Sawyer had been playing in the tunnels at school and had a small airplane in his hand, crashed into the kid in front of him and "his left front tooth was pushed in and bleeding."  After a few frantic phone calls, we had Sawyer an appointment at a dentist.  Sam took Sawyer to the dentist, where we found out his permanent teeth weren't damaged, but he would "most likely lose his left front tooth."  Not the way we wanted our first trip to the dentist to go!  He has to eat soft foods all this week, and we are praying his tooth with not fall out!

Today, Sawyer's right eye was mildly swollen before school, but not red.  We gave him some ibuprofen and put some ice on it.  I received another page at work this afternoon that after nap time his eye was "much more swollen" and it was also reddened.  I left work early and took Sawyer to see his pediatrician.  He does not have pink eye, but rather an infected eye lid.  Poor kid.  He has not had a good week.  We are hoping he is feeling better by Saturday, as we are traveling to Texas on Saturday to see Aunt Sheila, Uncle Steve & Cousin Dalton.  It will be Sawyer's first airplane trip.

Here are a few pictures we took this evening.  You can see how swollen his eye is and it is also red underneath his eye.  It looks like he has been punched in the eye (you should see the other kid!)  Luckily, Sawyer has remained his same, cheerful self through all this stuff.  Its mommy & daddy who have been traumatized by our sweet little boy's injuries this week.

If you look closely, you can tell his left front tooth is pushed back.
