First Beach Trip!

After spending a few days with Aunt Sheila, Uncle Steve & Cousin Dalton, we went to Galveston, Texas for a few days.  The boys took a nap during our 2.5 hour drive to Galveston.  The boys have never been to a beach, and we were hoping they would like it.  Our hotel was right across the street from the beach, and had a balcony overlooking the beach, which was great since the boys go to bed at 8:00pm!  The boys LOVED the beach.  After eating lunch, we checked into our hotel, changed into our swim suits and put lots of sunscreen on to go to the beach.  We spent a few hours there, then went out for dinner.  The next day, we found a great coffee shop to have breakfast at, and spent the entire day at the beach.  Sutton even took a nap on the beach under the umbrella.  Sawyer LOVED running out into the water with his goggles on and playing in the sand.  We found some great restaurants and a wonderful homemade ice cream shop while we were there.  It was so relaxing to listen to the waves crash in and to watch the boys having such a fun time.  Nothing is better than the sound of their giggles!  Sutton was a little dare devil and needed very close supervision when in the water, as he would walk right out into the waves and they would knock him down, and he would be laughing the entire time.  It was great to be on vacation, and we all had a great time at the beach!   I can see another beach vacation in our future in years to come.  Thanks for checking our blog out.  Keep checking back, as I have several more updates to do from our vacation to Texas.

The beach had seaweed all over, but they didn't seem to mind. 

Sutton had to stop and eat some snacks we brought.  Snacks were a crucial survival item during vacation and especially when driving!  Sawyer is out in the water.

Sutton watched everything Sawyer did VERY closely.  I think he was trying to figure out how to make a break for it!

Beach Day #2 -- a little more seaweed was on this beach.  

Sawyer tried using a boogie board we had bought, but didn't really like it.

They LOVED playing in the sand!  Sawyer dug a hole (with some help from Daddy & Mommy)  and kept bringing water to put in the hole for them to play in.  They were a sandy mess!

They were completely EXHAUSTED after our full day at the beach!  They slept very well each night in the hotel.  But ... woke up full of energy the next morning!  Sutton was up by 6:00am each day, so he and Mommy would go to the lobby for coffee to give Sawyer & Daddy a little extra rest.

Of course, Sawyer had to "watch a show" every morning!
