Yesterday we receive a call at work telling us Sawyer was fussy and running a 100.3 temperature. So, off to the doctor we went again! Sawyer still has an ear infection. Apparently, the first round of antibiotics we were on didn't completely do the trick. We are now on another round of a different antibiotic. Last night was a long, fussy night. Sawyer and I slept in the recliner off and on most of the night. Today, we are hanging out at home. Unfortunately, this round of antibiotics is giving him some side effects -- diarrhea and more spitting up. It has been a long day, but he seems to be feeling better this afternoon -- as long as I am holding him or within a few feet of him. If not, big time crying begins.

ReplyDeletewe're learning with lc that ear fluid can often be caused by acid reflux (silent or otherwise) collecting in the ears. the majority of the time fluid is found in the ears repeatedly it tests as being acidic...
if that pesky stuff keeps creeping back, you might want to investigate an antacid with your pediatrician...even if it's just for a little while until mr. chunk makes the official graduation to solids completely.
can't wait to see you and squeeze little mr. again...also can't wait to see pudge up against mr. big. it's going to be a HOOT...
