Surgery Day
Sawyer had some minor surgery today at Children's Mercy. Our day started off at 4:00am, when he awoke, expecting to eat again. I fed him at 3:00am, which was the last time he could eat until after surgery. We were all up bright and early, trying to divert his attention to anything besides eating! We arrived at Children's Mercy at 6:50am, and Sawyer was in surgery (including prepping him, doing the surgery, and recovery) from ~8:15am to ~11:30am. We were very excited to see him again. As usual, he was his happy self, but was a little groggy after surgery. He did very well. We are all home now, resting and Sawyer is enjoying snuggling with either Sam or I at all times. All the staff at the hospital were wonderful, but we hope we don't have to visit there again anytime soon after our post-op visit.
Right after arriving home -- notice Ducky even received an arm band (or neck band in his case), and Sawyer has a cute bandaid on his left ankle from where his IV was inserted.
