To celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, we decided to take a trip to Colorado by ourselves, without the boys. We had a great time, but we missed Sawyer & Sutton a lot. We flew to Denver, then rented a Camaro convertible, which Sam LOVED driving and we had a lot of fun driving on scenic roads along the mountains. We spent two nights in Boulder and two nights in Denver. We slept in, visited some great breweries, listend to live music, ate some great food, took a few naps, went to a Colorado Rockies baseball game, hiked, did some shopping and just enjoyed being together. Sam & I both said we could easily live in Colorado someday -- maybe when we retire!
Here are a few pictures we took.
The Camaro!
Mommy & Daddy getting ready to go out for dinner.
Daddy at the beginning of our hike to the Royal Arch in Boulder.
Almost to the top!
It was a long, steep hike. It took us 3 hours to complete.
We made it!!
This picture is a little blurry, but it shows you how large the arch was in comparison to Sam.
One of the views along the road to Mount Evans outside of Denver. It was a beautiful 14 mile drive, with LOTS of twists and turns. The road is literally along the edge of the mountain. We went with the convertible top down and it was 79 degrees at the bottom and 49 degrees at the top of the mountain. We were comfortable at the botton and had the heater and our seat warmers on as we were driving to the top!
Sam in his element -- driving!
At the top of the mountain -- I was freezing. Neither one of us brought a jacket.
Driving back down.
We made a brief stop at the Red Rocks on our way back to Denver.
