Oh the joys of parenting a newborn!!! Sutton does not like to sleep more than about an hour at night, UNLESS he is laying on mommy. He also has a fussy time every night around 7pm. He HATES to be naked, and therefore dislikes diaper changes & bath time. We decided to re-evaluate how we were doing things to remedy our sleepless nights as Sutton needs to get use to sleeping in his bassinet or crib! I got the parenting books we read cover to cover prior to having Sawyer and reviewed some of the basic things we did with Sawyer -- how quickly we forget! We thought we knew what we were doing, as Sawyer made our job as parents easy! Sutton is a unique little person, with his own wants/needs and we are still trying to figure him out. After all, he has only been with us for 3 weeks!
After changing a few things, and having more "play time" during the day yesterday, I am happy to report Sutton slept for 3 hours and 2.5 hours last night -- in his bassinet. Yeah Sutton! This morning, I am hopeful our sleepless nights will be coming to an end. Mommy feels like a new person today. It is amazing what a few hours of solid sleep can do!
