Sutton -- 8 Months

Yet another month has past us by and Sutton is now 8 months old.  He continues to be a very happy baby who does not like to sit still!  He still army crawls anywhere he wants to go and can also crawl on all 4's.  He digs his right foot in while he is crawling and lunges himself forward with each movement.  He can also pull himself up to a standing position on all kinds of things and has started side-stepping.  There is never a moment of rest when he is awake, as he is always looking for something else to get into!  He loves playing with his toys, but especially loves anything Sawyer is playing with!  He understands the sign language we use with him -- eat, more, drink, and bath  -- but he has yet to sign back to us.  He still doesn't have any teeth, but prefers to feed himself food.  He eats lots of Gerber puffs and cheerios while sitting in his high chair.  We have also started giving him small pieces of soft foods and giving him small bites of what we are eating.  He is developing a preference for real food, not baby food!  He eats 3 meals a day, but also still takes 4 bottles.  I am in the process of weaning him off breast feeding, so most of his bottles are now formula.  We went to the doctor, unexpectedly today, as Sutton has developed thrush from the recent antibiotics he was on.  He also shared this with mommy -- not fun!  He weighed 18 pounds, 8 ounces, with his clothing on, at the doctor's office.  He likes to look at board books and still loves it when Sawyer plays with him.  Sometimes when we put the boys down for a nap, you can hear them both giggling and playing instead of napping.  It is so cute to hear them having fun with each other.   He likes to listen to music and likes to be sang to -- especially patty cake!  He is definitely a growing, active boy with lots of energy!  Thanks for checking in on Sutton as he grows!

Look at me standing in my crib!
