Just a few cute stories about Sawyer....
Recently, Sawyer has started having imaginary friends. It started the week Daddy was on his business trip (November 7-11). Diego was the first friend to arrive, and Sawyer was wearing his back pack around, which had all their stuff ("i-pods, phones, and snacks" per Sawyer). We then had Dora come. These friends play with Sawyer, especially on the top bunk of his bunk bed. They also had to have plates, drinks and silverware set out for them at dinner! When I asked Sawyer if mommy could see them, he seemed mildly irritated and said "No mom, their MY friends and only I can see them." He was even very clever, as they all needed "a treat from his witch" (which is where Sawyer's Halloween candy is located). Of course, his friends wouldn't eat their treats, so guess who ate them -- Sawyer! Since then, we have had Super Why, Jesus and Rudolph all at our house. When Super Why (who is a character from a show he likes to watch on PBS) is here, Sawyer has to wear his cape, "like Super Why does." He is also very excited about "Jesus's birthday" and thinks we need to make him a "strawberry cake" because that is "Jesus's favorite." Rudolph spent an evening in Sawyer's bed, because his "leg was hurt" and he "was tired of wearing his nose!" We have no idea where he comes up with all this, but we certainly enjoy his active imagination. His friends aren't with us every night, but when they are here we have to acknowledge them and play along!

Sawyer has also really become creative with his reasons for getting out of bed, after we have put him to bed. He started with the usual "I need to go potty, I need a drink, I need another kiss" excuses. In the past week he has also given us "I have wax in my ear, I have a booger in my nose and need a kleenex, and our favorite -- I need my snaggle nails trimmed!" We think he just lays in bed and thinks up more reasons to get back up! He usually gets out of bed at least twice before finally going to bed! I thought these stories were too cute not to share. Hope you all get a chuckle out of them!
